Our Misson Statement

"... We are individuals called together to worship a loving God in response to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

As a community of believers, we are led by the Holy Spirit to feed the hungry and welcome the stranger; to teach the truth of the Gospel and become fully alive in Christ..."

"...Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord. . .To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good...."

Session Ministries 2010

Worship and Music Ministry

Provide genuine worship experiences that are prayerful, reverent and joyful, in which the individual worshiper and the community of faith encounter the purpose, presence and power of living God of scripture.

Buildings and Grounds Ministry

Maintain First Presbyterian Church's physical plant, including the Presbyterian Friendship Center, so that our buildings provide accessible and hospitable environments for people of all ages and abilities to worship, study, and fellowship together, bringing glory to God.

Fellowship and Outreach Ministry

Create a church culture of hospitality that shelters and nurtures the spiritual fellowship of the congregation, which opens up opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to grow deeper in loving relationships with God and each other and to invite others into the life of the church.

Christian Education Ministry

Provide educational opportunities to equip all members and participants in our church body to grow in relationship to God and neighbor as they grow in their knowledge and understanding of the Bible, Reformed theology, and worship and spiritual practices of the faith community.

Stewardship and Mission Interpretation Ministry

Educate the congregation, individually and collectively, about opportunities to respond to God's abundant gifts by sharing their time and talents. Interpret both activities and funding of the church's ministry in light of God's love for us in the good creation, Jesus' mandate to share the gospel in word and deed, and the Holy Spirit's enlivening movement within us as servants of God in the local community and the world.

Administration Ministry

Provide oversight of the church's personnel and the financial resources that have been entrusted to the church to ensure they are used for the glory of God as the church fulfills its mission.
